The Parraweena site is for Level 1 or higher certified flights.

This site was was established by the ERG group for experimental rocketry and if permission is granted from the owners NSWRA can launch here as well. Launching with ERG group is by invitation only as experimental rocketry is not a spectator sport. NSWRA & ERG launches at Parraweena will be organised as separate events.
 

Parraweena Homestead is at red arrow on map , the black dot is one of the launch sites. It is situated approximately 35 Km west of Willow Tree along the Blackville Rd.

Directions to find Parraweena:

At Willow tree, take Merriwa / Blackville turnoff which is at Southern end of town. (Turn left if coming from Murrurundi).

You will cross a railway line about 50 metres after turn-off, go down to T-junction, and veer left. Mark your Odometer.

Continue on Blackville Rd. At about 18 km look for pink painted church on your right. (Your going the correct way.)

1.7 km past this church turn right at sign to Blackville.

Follow this road for another 15km.
There is a sharp bend amongst the hills on this road that may catch a drowsy driver so be careful.

Look out on right for “Parraweena” attached to letterbox.

(Do not go to Parraweena homestead unless directed to do so.)

After passing the Parraweena homestead sign, The grain shed (picture at right.) is the furthest point you should ever travel.
It is on the LH (south) side of Blackville road. It is also the parking area for Launch site 4, this is our wet weather site.
(Other sites cannot be easily seen from the road.)

Use UHF channel 26 to contact us if you get lost.
Call at 1k intervals along the road until you reach the Grain shed.
Do not proceed into the fields if they are muddy.
